A viral clip on Twitter of the 41-year-old Japanese wrestler resurfaced where Ibushi wrestled with a doll. While the clip had the caption, “So this is the new game changer Kota Ibushi?”, Cornette added more to it.

The 61-year-old wrote, “Looks like AEW’s landed another Hall of Famer!”

This is not the first time Cornette has taken a jibe at AEW. There are several occasions in the past when the former WWE official has thrashed Tony Khan’s company over ample reasons on his podcast.

Ibushi’s NJPW contract expired earlier this year on February 1, 2023. Since then, he hasn’t joined any of the major companies. However, his appearance in AEW will be a massive one reuniting him and Kenny Omega formerly known as the “Golden Lovers”.
