Amidst His Payback Hosting Duties, John Cena Takes Time Out to Continue His Record-Breaking Legacy With Charitable Organization

John Cena is a name that needs no introduction. He’s a champion in the ring and outside the ring as well. One of his most remarkable achievements is his record-breaking involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Cena currently holds a Guinness World Record for 650 Make-A-Wish wishes granted.

Recently, the star was seen yet again meeting with his young fans in order to fulfill their wishes as part of the foundation. The recent moment occurred during WWE’s recent PLE event Payback at PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh. Cena, who was hosting the event, took time out of his day to meet with the fans.

Apart from his hosting duties, Cena had other responsibilities to fulfill as well at Payback. In a video recorded by a fan, Cena was seen interacting with a few kids were there as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation to meet their favorite wrestler.

John Cena’s connection with the Make-A-Wish Foundation started in the early 2000s when he granted his first wish. From that moment, Cena became a stalwart supporter of the foundation. His genuine passion for the cause was evident as he continued to meet children and fulfill their dreams with unwavering enthusiasm, even after breaking the record.

Above mentioned interaction was Cena’s 652nd appearance for the foundation which has been WWE’s partner for over 40 years. Cena tops the list by a huge mile as no other wrestler has been involved in even 400 wishes. In fact, Cena is also the most demanded pro wrestler, no surprise given his Hustle-Loyalty-Respect gimmick.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1980. The foundation is focused on granting the wishes of children with terminal illnesses. They rely heavily on donations and volunteers to fulfill these wishes.

WWE’s connection with Make-A-Wish

WWE, formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), has a long history of partnering with charitable organizations. The relationship between WWE and Make-A-Wish began in the late 1980s when WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan became one of the first wrestlers to grant a wish. This marked the start of a mutually beneficial partnership between WWE and the foundation.

While John Cena stands out as the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s most prominent ambassador, he is not the only one making a difference. The list includes The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is also known for his philanthropic efforts. Seth Rollins is also one of the most demanded pro-wrestlers.
