WWE is arguably one of the biggest wrestling promotions of all time. The brainchild of Vince McMahon caters to a vast and diverse global audience. So naturally, not everyone might enjoy every booking choice the promotion makes in regard to its superstars. Recently, one of the most passionate storylines in pro wrestling history in recent years marked its destination. While fans rooted for Cody Rhodes to finish his story, it seems the tides have turned.

Even Hollywood star, O’Shea Jackson Jr., the son of music artist Ice Cube, joined in on the internet trend as he engaged in conversation over the topic. The Straight Outta Compton star recently highlighted one wrestling fan’s angst over The American Nightmare’s title reign.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes finally clinched the title he had vied for his entire life against Roman Reigns after a long wait. However, while fans kept rooting for the Royal Rumble winner throughout his ‘Road to WrestleMania’, they soon turned their back on him. The pro wrestling faithful has remarked that since Rhodes finished his story, the aftermath of his narrative doesn’t entice them enough. They suggested that the journey towards winning the title offered more thrills than what could be in store for the future.

O’Shea Jackson Jr. is a vocal and dedicated fan of pro wrestling, and it was surprising to see him hop on the trend. A fan account posted an upload, sharing their hatred for The American Nightmare. Jackson would soon repost the tweet and call out the hatred. He wrote, “This is the most hater sh*t I’ve ever seen lmfaoooo.” The Hollywood star expressed his amusement at the post. Despite not making his stance clear on the topic, O’Shea Jackson made sure that the post went viral.

Is the amount of hatred Rhodes receiving justified?

A few months back, when speculations rose of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson possibly snatching away Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania XL spot, fans made their opinions known. The overwhelming negative feedback forced the promotion to opt in a different direction, which culminated in The American Nightmare emerging triumphant. However, as soon as Cody Rhodes fulfilled his story, interest in his arc has waned. Soon enough, critical comments over his repetitive promos and emotions came to the surface. However, none of these are justified.

Cody Rhodes just fulfilled his story and has only just embraced his top-dog status. The possibilities are endless for his choice of opponents and storylines. The American Nightmare has always been a solid performer and has shown a penchant for adapting to different demands. With the amount of effort and consistency the WWE Universal Champion has showcased, it would prove a fool’s errand to bet against him.
