It has been almost two months since the return of Randy Orton to WWE. The Viper is back after recovering from a vicious injury that had him out of commission for a year and a half. Getting straight to business, Orton has bagged a title shot for the WWE Championship belt currently around the waist of Roman Reigns.

While Randy Orton does have a big opportunity here, he will have to go through a fatal four-way match, chopping his chances down to 25 percent. But, there is a high chance that Triple H may make the Apex Predator walk away with the title. In fact, he has three big reasons why he will make The Viper be the one to dethrone the Tribal Chief.

Randy Orton has won the WWE Championship a total of 14 times. Thus, while the legendary Ric Flair and John Cena are tied for first place with 16 wins, Orton is in second place. But, it has been a long time since he had the belt to himself despite being the most vicious and dangerous out of the trio.

The WWE and Triple H would love to make Randy Orton rejoin this race of being the GOAT and create more tension among fans. Thus, it is highly likely that The Game will unleash The Legend Killer on Roman Reigns.

Besides, this will also generate more hype than Reigns surpassing Hulk Hogan despite being an absentee champion. Although this is a strong motive in itself, Triple H also has another ace up his sleeve.

Completing the story of The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes

WrestleMania 39 saw the unexpected defeat of Cody Rhodes at the hands of The Bloodline during the main event. However, Rhodes didn’t have any allies like Roman Reigns did back then. But, the Royal Rumble can see the American Nightmare help his former Legacy buddy, Randy Orton.

This will easily prevent Reigns from having his way with Bloodline interference. As an added advantage, if Randy Orton wins the title, Rhodes will have a fair shot at the WWE title. This will not just help him complete his story, but this also makes for a compelling story as Rhodes has a history of being Orton’s apprentice in the faction, legacy

If Rhodes wins the belt and Orton wins the title again in a rematch it will result in the Apex Predator becoming a 16-time WWE Champ. While this will enable Triple H to get Orton to be cemented as one of the GOATs, there’s also an added incentive for him to carry the storyline out in this manner.

Randy Orton carries a timeless appeal and physique which has only gotten more impressive since his return. However, while The Viper has evolved from an escapist to a head-on hellraiser, he has also become more injury-prone. The Legend Killer has faced several big injuries throughout his career, with his latest injury making it difficult to even get up from bed.

Randy Orton may be just 43 years old, but his fitness is quite questionable. Thus, while The Apex Predator can indeed touch greatness, he is running on a clock and doesn’t have much time. So pulling the trigger on his GOAT status now may be Triple H’s best bet to make the most of Orton’s limited in ring career.
