It was 2010 when Vince McMahon introduced the new Chosen One. A young Drew McIntyre, still beardless, took his first steps onto the main roster. The Scot arrived, accompanied by a majestic song produced by Jim Johnston that would become a premonition of his sporting career. The song is titled ‘Broken Dreams’. The career of the wrestler born in the British Isles has certainly reflected that theme. First, it was his dismissal in 2014 after wandering with the group 3MB/3 Man Band accompanied by Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. After his return in 2017, he won the NXT title, although he quickly lost it to Andrade, a wrestler who returned to the company at the latest Royal Rumble. However, he still managed to rise to the top, only to scrape the bottom again.

Now, Drew McIntyre is having one of the best moments of his career. A character with which he is comfortable and can develop freely on the microphone. Still, his contract with the company expires after WrestleMania, and the latest U.S. media reports on his situation are confusing. According to several specialized portals, McIntyre has not renewed his contract with WWE, and after the great event, he could sign with any other company. But what if he has already signed another contract? And what are the possible motives behind it? Let’s find out.

In 2020, McIntyre would emerge as the winner of the Royal Rumble. Everything was destined for a memorable triumph in the Showcase of the Immortals, but a global pandemic prevented it. With the main event of WrestleMania 36 against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, McIntyre had to settle for celebrating in an empty arena. A moment that still haunts him. But what would eventually break him happened at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, where the duel was served: the biggest villain, Roman Reigns, against the babyface, McIntyre. It was the moment Drew McIntyre had dreamed of his entire career, but ‘The Bloodline’ snatched it away from him, and he lost the opportunity of a lifetime.

And a year later, Jey Uso, reformed and landed on Raw with the protection of the great face of the industry, Cody Rhodes. The entire roster had forgotten all the misdeeds of Roman’s right-hand man. All but one, Drew McIntyre. The Scotsman has been characterized in this new stage as being a villain who does not forget and who has motivation behind him. At that moment, he began a meticulous transformation into a villain motivated by everything he suffered over the years. Now he’s tearing apart the entire Raw roster: Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins. With such strong character development, it seems tough that the WWE would want the Scotsman to leave.

McIntyre teamed with Judgement Day to take on the early ones in the War Games. And now he is constantly attacking Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins. A few days back on Raw, the Scotsman showed his support for the American Nightmare to finish his story while Seth Rollins too was present in the ring. And what looked like a good-boy promo hid a malevolent, yet sensible plan for Rhodes to leave the World Heavyweight Championship path free heading into WrestleMania.
