Why Did Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Big E and Other Top Superstars Miss WWE Raw?

The surge in COVID-19 cases in the USA has seen the WWE make some changes. WWE has already confirmed a case, which led to many superstars missing the show. Consequently, significant changes had to be made to the match card of live shows and Monday Night Raw.
Seth Rollins recently revealed on his Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Since superstars meet each other daily, WWE is quarantining some of them for health reasons. A few superstars were pulled out of shows in Madison Square Garden and Tampa last minute. PWInsider.com reported that Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Big-E were not present at MSG.
“WWE Holiday Tour dates tonight in NYC and Tampa will not be taking place as scheduled due to talents not being present to work the events. The advertised main events in NYC were Kevin Owens vs. Big E vs. Seth Rollins and Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch in steel cage matches.”

Also, PWInsider said that Edge and Natalya were “rushed” to the show late to fill the empty spots in the MSG show.

A total of nine talents were pulled from the WWE live events on Sunday; Becky Lynch, Big E, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair, Zelina Vega, Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Xavier Woods.
What will happen to WWE Day 1 pay-per-view?
As WWE deals with the health hazards of the pandemic, the faces of RAW also missed the show. Seth, Becky, Bianca, and Big-E were not physically present at the arena.
A report from PWInsider stated the company rewrote parts of RAW since many people weren’t present on the show.

“Obviously there will be some rewrites as a number of talents are not able to appear due to COVID-19 positive-related issues, which could mean either they tested positive or, as one WWE source noted this morning, the talent could have been exposed and held off out of an abundance of caution.”
The same report stated that WWE is down to half the producers and writers, which has increased the workload. Given the proximity of Day 1, there is apprehension about the show facing trouble. However, as WWE has shown no signs of canceling the show, the card will proceed as scheduled.

Despite being absent, Seth and Big-E cut promos about their upcoming matches at the pay-per-view.

As for the SmackDown superstars, there is no word on what’s going on. Roman Reigns will headline Day 1, but there are doubts on whether he’ll make it. Also, on the SmackDown side of things, The New Day will face The Usos for the tag team titles.
