Brock Lesnar Recalls Getting Caught Off Guard in His UFC Debut: “Please Just Give Me Another Shot at This”

The Alpha Male of our Species, Brock Lesnar, has an incredible resume of his own throughout his career. Brock Lesnar in 2004 took a break from WWE to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a football player. However, the goal was short-lived, and Brock later pursued a career in combat sports. In 2007, Lesnar began his MMA career and signed with the UFC in 2008. The Beast is now a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. 

When Brock Lesnar returned to WWE in 2021, the WWE blue brand commentator, Pat McAfee went crazy seeing ‘The Beast Incarnate’ walking inside the ring. Indeed, Brock has changed from inside the WWE ring to a UFC octagon ring. Lesnar has had his hands on opponents in professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.

The Beast Incarnate joined with the current WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee on his podcast, The Pat McAfee Show. The host asked the former World Champion about his transition from WWE to UFC.

Give Brock Lesnar any ring, he will ‘incarnate’ it!

For any individual, having such a change may be quite challenging. However, Brock Lesnar said, “Total comfort, yeah, and I surround myself with really good guys. I took it very seriously.”

Lesnar stated he made sure he would work for his position in UFC even though he has experience as a professional wrestler. He took the high road and did not take advantage of his WWE career. “I hired the best jiu-jitsu guys, the best stand-up guys that could coach me, and so I really took it seriously,” Lesnar added.

The Beast Brock Lesnar also stated that he was very humble about his first fight with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu wizard, Frank Mir. “I had prepared for the kneebar so many times, and I actually, probably a million times had prepared how to get out and counter what he got me in. And I was like I was in practice drilling and how to get out of it. Like, oh s**t, this happening, Yeah, that’s good, I’m done,” said Brock Lesnar on preparing for his fight with Frank Mir.

The debut match resulted in Frank Mir securing a kneebar on Brock Lesnar. Despite Lesnar landing two takedowns, his debut came to a quick stop at 90 seconds in Round 1.

The Beast knocked on opportunity’s door

Brock mentioned he was furious at himself for his UFC debut result. However, for The Beast, when other people criticize him that he can’t do anything in combat sports, he proved them wrong. “I love those people. I get goosebumps for that,” mentioned the former WWE Champion.

The Beast Incarnate asked for another chance to Dana White, the President of UFC, since he only had a one-fight deal. “Please, just give me another shot at this. So then boom, and then it just took off. I fought Heath Herring, and then I got Randy Couture and won the bell,” Brock Lesnar added.

To win the UFC Heavyweight title, Brock defeated the UFC Hall of Famer Randy “The Natural” Couture atUFC 91.

Brock Lesnar will now battle against the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber 2022. He is also set to dethrone the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns, for the WWE Universal title at WrestleMania 38. The Beast Incarnate has paved his way to become one of the best.
