Former NFL tight end and Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has long been a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. The three-time Super Bowl champion is one of LeBron James’ biggest admirers, thus it is no surprise he supports the team ‘The Chosen One’ plays for. Moreover, Sharpe was not afraid to stand up for his favorite team and player after he got into an altercation with the opposing team.

The Lakers were playing against the Memphis Grizzlies when Sharpe confronted Dillon Brooks. The two went back and forth trading insults as all the attention now diverged courtside. Moreover, Brooks’ teammates Ja Morant and Steven Adams also got involved in this confrontation, with Adams leading the charge and almost physically laying his hands on the NFL Hall of Famer.

This drew a lot of attention to the seemingly routine game as many people reacted to this incident. This also included Amir Tyson, the son of boxing legend Mike Tyson who also posted about this altercation.

Brooks replied with a few insults which escalated the situation leading other members of the stream to also get involved.

They didn’t want this smoke, Dave. They do all the talking and jockeying and I ain’t about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron. He said, ‘F**k’ me. I said, ‘F**k you,’ back. He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems’. And then Ja [Morant] came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now,” he said.

It looks like the Lakers have a die-hard fan in Sharpe who was willing to throw hands for his favorite team and player. However, these kinds of incidents only promote fighting in the league, which is trying to reinvent itself for the past decade since the ‘Malice In The Palace’.
