Ryan Garcia Responds to Canelo Alvarez’s Comments on Inactivity

Lightweight superstar Ryan Garcia faced severe criticisms from several people after walking out of two of his scheduled fights this year. The latest opprobrium came from his stablemate P4P king Canelo Alvarez, who advised ‘KingRy’ to not waste his talent and remain more active in the sport.
Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez have been self-claimed brothers and are always spotted supporting each other. Therefore, it was shocking to see Alvarez criticize Garcia. However, Canelo Alvarez offered constructive criticism and Ryan Garcia has accepted it wholeheartedly.
‘KngRy’ was present at the MGM Grand to witness Canelo vs Plant live in action. After the event, he connected with the media and addressed several things, including Alvarez’s latest comments on his inactivity.

Ryan Garcia said, “I understand where it is coming from. It’s always all love you know. I don’t take anything personal, I just know that I had a hard year. But I am fully recovered mentally and when I get back with these, I am coming for everybody’s heads.”
The undefeated 135-pounder also posted a picture on social media with Canelo Alvarez. He hailed the P4P king’s win over Caleb Plant and promised to do something similar when he returns to action. He may not return in 2021 as the boxing schedule already looks pretty stacked. However, we may see Ryan Garcia in early 2022.
After beating Luke Campbell in January 2021, Garcia put his hands on the WBC Interim lightweight title. He was about to appear in a world championship shot. However, inactivity has cost him the Interim belt and he will look to resurrect himself in the title ride with some relevant wins.

During Garcia’s absence, Gervonta Davis, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and several other A-listers have bagged their respective fights. Therfore, ‘KingRy’ shall wait and see how those matchups turn out and then select an opponent for his return. An immediate world title shot may not be on his radar, but Garcia isn’t very far from the big scene.
The elite knockout artist seems one or maybe two wins away from regaining his lost spot. However, the 135 lbs division has many hard-hitters, and Garcia will need to improvise his game plan to succeed.
