After his victory over Jermell Charlo, Canelo Alvarez has become the biggest name in boxing. Millions across the globe tuned in to watch ‘Cinnamon’ defend his title against Jermell Charlo on Saturday night. But given the fact that Canelo is 33 years old, a dire question emerges among the fan base. How long will Canelo keep making appearances inside the boxing ring? 

While there is no such news of Canelo retiring, it’s an eventuality every fighter must face at some point. So, would that be the end of Canelo’s fighting career? During the podcast, one of the co-hosts from the Full Send podcast asked Canelo whether he would fight influencers like Jake Paul in exhibition bouts. Responding to the question, Canelo stated, “When I am done with boxing, why not? Maybe.” Elaborating on Canelo’s response, the host clarifies, “When you are done competing at the highest level?”

In response, Canelo expressed his openness to the idea by saying, “Yeah, yeah….um, I think it’s good!” His rationale behind his decision is the idea that influencers like Jake Paul and others bring a large audience to the boxing world.

According to the statement from Canelo, fans can expect Canelo to make appearances in exhibition matches after his retirement. However, Canelo’s retirement is on the distant horizon. So, the question is, who would Canelo fight next?
