There’s both good news and bad news for WWE fans in India. The Stamford-based promotion has finally announced its schedule in the South Asian country after almost six years. However, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would be missing out from action, as of now. This has left many fans in India heartbroken.
They took to social media to let the company know of their feelings pertaining to the issue. However, unlike Saudi Arabia, India will most likely be without the service of The Big Dog. But do you know who the other stars WWE have advertised for their upcoming tour?

Pro wrestling is not a new phenomenon in India. The country has a substantial fan base, and it led WWE to visit Delhi, India’s capital, for their first tour in 2016. They were back again the following year. But since then, India didn’t gotten a chance to host a live match.
After nearly six years, several WWE current champions will visit the country for a single-day affair. And in first, the promotion has chosen to change the host city as well. While India’s capital was their preferred destination for the events in 2016 and 2017, WWE has decided to perform in Hyderabad.

According to WWE India’s official Instagram account, the event will emanate from the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on 8th September 2023. Their last live event in the country was in December 2017. As per the poster, a host of stars have been advertised, headlined by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

Others include Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, Undisputed Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, and Intercontinental Champion Gunther. Then there is Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, hometown talents Indus Sher with Jinder Mahal, and others.
Despite the stellar lineup, fans were not happy with Reigns missing out.
Indian WWE fans urge Roman Reigns to join other superstars
Despite his villainous antics, the WWE Universe widely loves Roman Reigns. And if anyone’s in doubt, just look at how fans in India reacted to his absence from the show.
They pleaded with the 38-year-old to join his peers. “@romanreigns please 🥺,” one fan wrote. “@romanreigns Please coming to India please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 @wwe,” another said.
Reigns was an integral part of WWE’s shows in 2016 on January 15 and 16. On the first night, he defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Big Show. The following evening, Reigns went toe-to-toe with Rusev, winning the bout.
No wonder fans are sad with Reigns’ probable absence. “We want Roman 🥹,” this user mentioned.

“No roman ? 😢,” a fourth asked.
Fans took the help of emojis to express themselves. “No Tribal Chief 😢,” one more comment read.
On the other hand, WWE’s latest announcement comes just weeks after Triple H spoke about the company’s intent to expand and explore new places. While India might not be a new destination for them, the city announced certainly is.
