It’s the second last race weekend of the season and one of the most highly anticipated ones. The Las Vegas GP is right around the corner and the excitement, at least in the drivers, is at an all-time high as the grid is ready to take on the Vegas Street Circuit for the first time. However, Ferrari men Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc expressed the race is not the only bit of excitement they’re looking forward to.

The third race on the American subcontinent is taking the circus to the party capital of the world. Now, the drivers always adopt the ‘when in Rome’ mentality and often take time out for the local attractions. We are all aware of the biggest local attraction in Vegas and so are Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

Now, Sainz has never been to Vegas, but Leclerc has been with the grid’s party animal who has had a similar influence on him in the past as well. So stepping foot in the city for the first time, Sainz should surely experience the Vegas nightlife. However, they need to fulfill the condition to fully enjoy themselves and an ex-Ferrari boss believes they just might fulfill the condition.

The man to beat every weekend is Max Verstappen. With Ferrari being the only team to have done so in the current season, Peter Windsor believes the Italian team can repeat the feat in Vegas. Windsor gave his reasoning for Ferrari’s dominance over Red Bull for the street race based on the track layout, so let’s hear it from the expert himself.

“I think Ferrari will be strong,” Windsor said in response to a fan’s question. “Yeah, I mean, let’s have a look at the Vegas track. Lots of straights there, aren’t there? I was talking to a couple of engineers today and they all said, yeah, yeah, you know, Monza spec almost in terms of wings, downforce level. A lot of straights there. So, on that basis, not just because Ferrari went well at Monza, but because, as we know, Ferrari is pretty good in a straight line, pretty good high-speed braking, pretty good functional race car, assuming they’re reliable. And so, yeah, they should go quite well around Vegas.”
