‘Pit Over There Now’ – Alpine F1 Cheekily Troll McLaren in Twitter Post Welcoming Daniel Ricciardo

Renault F1 is entering the 2021 grid under a new identity, Alpine F1. The rebranding process has seen the team change their driver line up and team management ahead of their debut. Daniel Ricciardo bid the team goodbye and moved on to McLaren as Fernando Alonso makes his much-awaited comeback.
In a recent tweet reply, Alpine F1 let the world know that they will miss the Australian dearly. Daniel Ricciardo helped Renault to a much better season in 2020, claming two podiums for the team. He finished the season in P5 and led Renault to a P5 finish on the championship standing as well.

McLaren posted a picture of a button to Daniel and Lando‘s radio and asked the fans, “Which button are you pressing and what are you saying?”
Alpine F1 had a heartwarming and funny reply, “It’s always nice to see you Daniel, but you’re meant to pit over there now.”

Alpine F1’s Ocon comments on Abiteboul’s departure
As a part of creating their new brand identity, Alpine also announced a change in their management. The team announced that Davide Brivio, just guided Suzuki to their first Moto GP win since 2000, would replace Cyril Abiteboul. After sitting out of F1 in 2019, Cyril signed Ocon to drive in Renault for the 2020 season. After the French boss’ departure, Ocon expressed his sadness on Cyril’s departure.

He said, “I’m sad to see Cyril leave. He is someone I have worked closely with for many years and has brought the project to where it is today. The result we had last year is thanks to him, so I wish him the best for the future.”

Ocon has clarified that he doesn’t want to set targets for next season too early. The pre-season testing is going to be very important for Alpine F1 to realize where they stand and how the French driver and Fernando Alonso feel inside the car.
