‘I’m signing up’: Latest Netflix Cup Update Leaves the PGA Tour and F1 fans Exhilarated

The newest golf event on the horizon is truly unexpected to enter the golf world. After releasing two hit documentaries, Full Swing and Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the infamous platform has now come with blazing-hot golf tournaments between F1 drivers and golfers from the PGA Tour.

Four golfers and four drivers will be made into a pair and play against each other. Netflix released the latest video showing fans what they could expect. The response from fans was mixed, and they were genuinely confused. Let’s see what the hype is about!

The Netflix Cup charges up for the exciting event

The Netflix Cup will have players cast in the docu-series playing for an 8-hole match against the assigned pair. The two teams winning will then battle out at sudden death 9th hole. The golfers participating are Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Justin Thomas, and Rickie Fowler.

While the F1 drivers are Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, and Carlos Sainz. Netflix has shared the pairing for the awaited event on 14th November at Wynn Las Vegas. The drivers are in town for the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Fans call the newest event a ‘gimmick’

An F1 fan found the Netflix Cup as the most harmful thing that happened to the sport, as he said, “Netflix is the worst thing that happened to my beautiful sport man 😔😔😔💔💔💔.”

The pre-event to the race thereafter has been taken as a marketing tactic to attract an audience, and this fan rightly said, “This is motorsport. Not a reality tv series lmao.” 

On the same note, this F1 fan said, “To many gimmick for F1 rightnow” while another exclaimed, “I’m signing up.” This fan suggested another idea, which I think will not be as safe as golf. He said, “Next up: Golf Pros in a F1 Car…”
