Giving back forms an important part of the circle of life. Some people tend to be better off, in terms of finances and wealth, in life. If they help those who aren’t in the same position, a lot of suffering can be dealt with. And this is the exact principle that NBA great, Michael Jordan has tried to live his life on.

Jordan, however, is not the only one to do so. In his various different adventures and avatars, he has come across similar people who part with their wealth generously. One of those people is Kurt Busch. Busch was an integral part of Jordan’s recently launched Cup Series team, 23XI Racing.

Having joined the team in 2022 from Chip Ganassi Racing, Busch met an early end to his time with the team due to the accident he suffered in Pocono. He has since been ruled out of racing and, resultantly, sought retirement.

But the Las Vegas man continues to use the wealth he generated over his long career in NASCAR for causes he believes in. His Window of Hope program managed to rake in $100,000 for the second time in a row, in 2022.

Busch collaborated with 23XI Racing, Blue Cross, Blue Shield of North Carolina, and 41 other drivers to generate this corpus. The money will be donated to the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute’s Project PINK; a bid to make mammography screenings accessible for the uninsured in the area.

A great initiative from the 2004 Cup Series winner. The community will be grateful for his work.

Michael Jordan does his bit to give back to society

The Chicago Bulls legend accumulated a mountain of wealth over his playing career, and through his multiple business ventures – most famously, the Jordan brand. He chooses to use some of that for the communities that don’t have the help and support they require to flourish. Most recently, the Jordan brand committed to spending $100 million for the betterment of the Black community.

Michael Jordan has a host of other charitable initiatives on his list that he has supported over the years. These include names such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nevada Cancer Institute, LIVESTRONG, and the Kids Wish Network, among others.

During the pandemic, it was reported that Jordan had donated a large part of the money earned from his Netflix documentary, The Last Dance, to Feeding America. In a statement, Jordan said, “In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks.”

“I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from The Last Dance to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago to help feed America’s hungry.”
