Sponsor Deals Will See NASCAR’s Hispanic Speedstar Feature in the Mexican Series at the Coliseum

A homecoming is on the cards for Daniel Suarez. The Trackhouse Racing driver is set to race in the NASCAR Mexico Series in an exciting turn of events. However, there’s one more good news in store for the Mexican. Quaker State has renewed its agreement with the Justin Marks-owned team, elongating its presence on the #99 team.

The American-based motor oil brand joined Trackhouse in 2023 and has felt the need to extend the partnership after an exciting season for the team. With Ross Chastain bringing in a big gun for the sponsor game in Busch Light, Quaker State’s backing in 2024 will be another positive for the team. Moreover, the company will also back Daniel Suarez’s car in the Mexico Series.

Daniel Suarez has driven in the Mexico Series full-time for five seasons. In that period, he has earned ten wins and 26 top-five finishes, with a P2 finish in the 2013 standings. His return to the NASCAR Mexico Series in the exhibition race at the LA Coliseum implies that the #99 Chevrolet driver will occupy the only guest driver spot of the evening.

Quaker State’s extension means it will be the primary sponsor for the #99 car in the Cup Series races at Richmond, Darlington, and Atlanta. The 2024 exhibition race will be the first time the NASCAR Mexico Series arrives at the LA Coliseum. Following in NASCAR’s footsteps of organizing an exhibition at the Coliseum, the competition is set to expect a comeback from Max Gutierrez.

Voicing his joy, Daniel Suarez said, “I never thought I would have the opportunity to race in the Mexico Series again. There are a ton of people who helped me in my career still involved in the series so it will be cool to go back and race with them. NASCAR’s Mexico Series is a great place to learn and over time I think will start producing drivers who will come to America. I cannot thank Quaker State and NASCAR enough for making this opportunity possible.”

Quaker State’s only appearance in the Mexican Series will also come through Daniel Suarez’s participation. As for the Shell-owned company, it has already established a base in NASCAR by serving as the official race entitlement partner for the Atlanta Motor Speedway race.

Daniel Suarez will drive for team owner Jimmy Morales, and José Blasco-Figueroa will guide the team on the radio. With this, the NASCAR season in North America is fully underway. Considering how vital sponsors have become to NASCAR in the current scenario, the deal with Quaker State couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Quaker State deal has once again brought the essence of sponsors to the spotlight. Ross Chastain’s new sponsor, Busch Light, has not just served as Kevin Harvick’s primary sponsor since time immemorial, but it has also been associated with the sport for 44 years.

Among Anheuser-Busch’s deals with NASCAR, the Busch Light Pole and the entitlement rights of the season-opener Busch Light Clash at LA Coliseum are the most prominent ones. With Chastain’s popularity seeing a growth spurt, Busch Light has found the ideal time to capitalize on it.

Before the Clash at the Coliseum, NASCAR teams rushed to end the silly season on a meaningful note. Daniel Suarez’s deal with Quaker State was preceded by Legacy Motor Club announcing its new sponsors, Family Dollar & Dollar Tree and Carvana. Financial backing and representation have become an essential facet of the sponsor-team dynamic.

Many teams in the Truck Series and Xfinity Series have struggled to find sponsors, so making ends meet has taken priority for them. While the Cup Series revenue stream has stabilized so that sponsorship deals are always feasible, this has yet to be the case in the lower tiers.
