LeBron James is the oldest active player in the NBA playing at 38. He is still the king of LA. In fierce competition in the Western Conference, Bron is taking on his shoulders to deliver in every single game. The Lakers were on a losing streak against the Clippers with a difference of 11 games before the thrilling Wednesday encounter. LeBron gave a historic performance and is playing an elite 21st season. The Lakers pulled off a 130-125 point win in the overtime.

There have been many debates and salty expert opinions about when will Bron’s decline begin. Even around these high expectations, LeBron has proved that he can still deliver. Recently, a 3x All-Star shared his thoughts on why it is still delusional to think that he is still the number 1 option at 38.

Kyrie should have been with AD, and then “you got LeBron”

In his podcast, Gilbert Arenas sits for a recap of the LA vs Clippers game while maintaining that Bron is still the king. They scrutinize it further. The team and the management are delusional to think that LeBron at 38 YO he is the number 1 option still.

Gil argues if we take out 38 YO LeBron from the equation for a moment, that’s how the team should have tried to make a deal. A move should be to pair Anthony Davis with someone so that Bron can do what he does as a “3rd option”.

“He is 38. Forget the name. So there should have been a trade that got Kyrie here. Kyrie, AD, and then you get LeBron,” Arenas said.

His presumptions are accurate, the fact that we still treat Bron like he has got to be like Luka and Jokic. Gil’s point is to get somebody in the Lakers like Kyrie so that LeBron can continue doing what he does best.

James’s historic Clippers performance

It is of no importance if fans force him to play like that or put pressure on him since Bron is not running out of fuel despite being the oldest to play. He snapped the losing streak of the Lakers by playing a historic 35 points in his 21st season on 68.4% shooting from the field. He nearly triple-doubled by grabbing 12 rebounds and 7 assists.

The highlight play was when he lost his shoe, put it back on, and made a sprint to penetrate the defense with a thunderous dunk. His alley-oop is still effective and average Lakers have gained a slow momentum of 3-2. Ageless LeBron will turn 39 on December 30th and Skip Bayless would still be mad at him if he ran out of gas during the playoffs.
