Similarly, the Hornets, struggling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference points table, managed to stun the Bucks. During the game, the Hornets went off to a flying start with 51 points in the first quarter. The first-quarter points tally tied with the NBA record for the most points in the first quarter. Previously the Golden State Warriors scored 51 points in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets in 2019. Moreover, the Hornets secured a franchise record with 84 points in the first half. Hornets guard Terry Rozier scored 25 points in the first half, supported by LaMelo Ball with 19 points.
