With Jets Wanting Derek Carr and Raiders Pulling Out, Aaron Rodgers Will Inevitably Hate the Next Best Decision for Him

The Aaron Rodgers question is on the mind of every NFL fan this year. Rodgers endured a difficult season with the Green Bay Packers and, in all possibilities, he wanted to move away from Lambeau Field. And he did have a number of options with him to do just that. But with the Las Vegas Raiders pulling out of the race and the New York Jets going after Derek Carr, Rodgers might just hate the next best alternative for him.

Rodgers is one of the best QBs in the NFL and has still not announced his decision for next season. But he soon might find himself out of options, as many of them are closing.

Just a few days ago, the Jets were the frontrunners to sign Aaron Rodgers if he decided to move away from the Packers. But they now are locked in on Derek Carr, even going as far as promising him a Hall of Fame status. The other contenders were Carr’s previous franchise the Raiders. But they might not sign a QB according to the franchise GM Dave Ziegler.

The next best option for Rodgers is the one he might hate. That is the Packers. And according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, the Packers are open to the idea.

So, in all probability, the face of the Packers franchise will return again to light up Lambeau Field. And he might give it all he got to go for one last shot at the Vince Lombardi trophy, something that has eluded him for more than a decade.

The Packers struggled to put on wins in the 2022 season. And their QB was the only thing that kept them in the hunt till the last game despite playing through obvious pain.

The Packers’ 2022 struggles

Aaron Rodgers led the Packers through a difficult 2022 season. The franchise finished the season with a disappointing 8-9 record. But at one point of the season, even that looked unachievable. 

The QB played through a thumb injury almost the entire season. And towards the end of it, he also sustained a rib injury. But he still kept the Packers in the hunt for a playoff spot till the last game against the Detroit Lions. The Packers lost and crashed out of the postseason spot. But he showed why he is still the franchise’s best option under center even at 39.
