Max Verstappen Admits Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Story’ Motivated Him Against Having Tattoos – ‘He Can Donate Blood’

Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly the pioneer of the wellness revolution. The soccer icon has been a guiding force not just for athletes but also across many other domains. CR7 has the habit of adopting some unusual practices for us commoners, but nothing is out of purpose. For example, the player is known for painting his toenails black to avoid infections due to excess sweat. However, it was another noble practice of the maestro to that influenced even Formula 1 icon Max Verstappen to avoid tattoos.

Max Verstappen also rejected the tattoo culture, learning that Cristiano Ronaldo also doesn’t do it, enabling him to donate blood regularly. Max was spotted in a recent interview saying, “No, I actually read quite an interesting story about why Ronaldo doesn’t have tattoos, right? So he can donate blood.” But why does Ronaldo despise them?

While Cristiano Ronaldo personally doesn’t have an issue with tattoos, there is a 4-month waiting period after getting one before someone can donate blood. Both artists and athletes around the world take tattoos seriously as a way to express themselves and their stories. Many flaunt their skin prints and also influence their fans to do so. Even CR7’s archrival, Lionel Messi, who was in fact influenced by Dani Alves, has many tattoos. Other famous soccer stars who got inked are Neymar, David Beckham, and even Sergio Ramos.

Even great legendary drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, along with others, have them. However, it seems like Max also chose a noble cause to donate blood regularly, just like the most followed athlete in the world. The F1 icon is killing it on and off the track.

The Dutch racer has won three world Formula 1 championships and is only 26 years old. He also broke the record for having the highest win percentage (86) in 2023. Apart from that, he is well known for his charity work, raising funds for “Wings for Life,” which is involved in the development of medicines. A similar case is Ronaldo, who has a humongous philanthropic umbrella.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was also deemed one of the most charitable people ever. The player not only donates blood but also raises awareness around the world. The face of Al Nassr is an ambassador for UNICEF and has spoken against child labor. Much earlier in his career, CR7 once said, “My father always taught me that when you help other people, then God will give you double“.

Moreover, Ronaldo also donated $5 million to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake. The Portuguese captain provided support during the COVID-19 pandemic and auctioned his belongings, including the Ballon d’Or, among many other notable works.
