Conor McGregor has been one of the best athletes to play with his opponent’s mind with his words. ‘Mental Warfare’, the term used in combat sports, perfectly fits with ‘The Notorious’.

The biggest PPV draw in the UFC, however, has used this skill to get an upper hand against individuals other than his counterparts in the Octagon or a ring; Draymond Green is one such example.

In 2017, ahead of McGregor’s most lucrative bout of his combat career against Floyd Mayweather, ‘The Notorious’ wore a Golden State Warriors #23 jersey.

Since McGregor was already a media star, this went on the internet like a wildfire. Subsequently, a #23 of Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green saw the Irish superstar donning his team’s jersey.

The Warriors forward didn’t appreciate McGregor’s attire. Thus, he posted, “We rocking with Floyd bro not you… take that off bruh @thenotoriousmma”

The Irish superstar was never the one to hold back; Since he was not wearing Green’s 23 jerseys and had the old C. J. Watson’s #23 shirt on, he responded to Green with some sharp comments.

How Much Did Conor McGregor Make in the Fight Against Floyd Mayweather?

“That’s C. J. Watson mate. I don’t know who the f*** you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school,” wrote ‘The Notorious‘.

“Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.j. when I don’t know or give a f*** about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid,” McGregor added.

Green later posted a reply mentioning his accolades, a Nate Diaz jibe, and a Floyd Mayweather warning to the Irishman. Even C.J. Watson criticized Conor McGregor’s move to wear his jersey.

Considering the amount of PPV sales the bout had, it wasn’t the best display of boxing. However, the anticipation and the ride to get to the bout made the May-Mac showdown a lifetime spectacle.
