Ever since Jake Paul rose to popularity with his boxing matches, there has been no shortage of opponents. The 25-year-old has established himself as a substantial paycheck for anyone who enters the ring with him. Incidentally, most of Paul’s notable fights have been against aging or retired MMA greats. Therefore, ‘The Problem Child’ is now receiving boxing callouts from popular MMA figures like Mike Perry and Donald Cerrone. The latest addition to that list is another UFC great who expressed his interest in fighting Paul.

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell has come out and openly called out for a potential bout. At 53 years of age, ‘The Iceman’ seems willing to take a risk for a sizeable paycheck. However, the former UFC light heavyweight champion is skeptical of the fight materializing and he laid out his reasons recently.

Jake Paul has a 6-0 boxing record so far. Arguably, the biggest win of those six came against former UFC champion Anderson Silva in October of last year. Now, Chuck Liddell looks to be interested in coming out of retirement to fight ‘The Problem Child’. However, he does not want to box Paul as the other MMA representatives did.

‘The Iceman’ called out Paul for an MMA fight. He guarantees that in the cage, Paul will not find success against him. Liddell was confident of this, even after considering his age.

“Everybody wants to fight me in MMA now. Come on, he doesn’t want to fight me in MMA. He doesn’t want to fight me at all. I’m retired man, I’m 53. But again, he’s got no chance.”

Several fans and pros have downplayed Paul’s wins against MMA fighters, citing that he would lose to them in the cage. However, Paul’s recent signing to PFL changes things. With the new deal, he is open to both MMA and boxing bouts and has even called out Nate Diaz for a fight apiece in each of the sports.

Liddell also acknowledged the fact that Paul probably wouldn’t look to fight him, as he was interested in profiles like that of Nate Diaz.

In a recent interview, Jake Paul announced he had signed for the leading MMA promotion, PFL. Paul revealed he would be fighting in a ‘Super Fight Division’ in the PFL. After confirming his move to MMA, Paul also called out one of the hottest free agents in the market, former UFC welterweight, Nate Diaz.

He said, “I would beat Nate Diaz up in an M.M.A. fight. There’s nothing he could do. To me, I’ve always felt like I’ve jumped in the deep end, even in boxing, maybe besides, like, Ben Askren.”

Unsurprisingly, Paul also voiced his argument for better fighter pay as he announced his move to MMA. As Paul seems to be putting money where his mouth is, he has seen the tide turn in his favor on a few occasions.

Paul’s move to MMA sets up the stage for him to fight MMA fighters where they are the best. Unfortunately for Liddell, and maybe even to the relief of many fans, he likely won’t be one of those that gets to face Paul in the cage.
