The fighter pay in the UFC has been a hot topic for debate. The issue has been in the news for some time now, with many fighters and other prominent personalities talking about the problems with it. One fighter who has been in a constant tussle with the promotion over it is Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou is the current UFC heavyweight champion whose contract is coming to an end. His contract dispute has been at the forefront for a long time and it involves not just fighter pay but also wanting to box. He has always been vocal about UFC fighters not earning enough. This came into the light when he tweeted about Logan Paul earning $20 million for his exhibition boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

Recently, he talked about Paul making that much money. He said, “Well, I even tweeted about that. He was getting $20 million and I check his record, he was 0-1. And he was fighting for $20 million. Obviously, he has a big audience but still, look at his cheque, look at my cheque. I’m like, what is wrong here? What are we doing wrong?”

“Something not right here. That doesn’t feel good at all, that doesn’t feel good. That’s also the part of the problem, you know. The fighter pay is also a problem. Obviously, as I say it again, they have a different audience. They have a good audience who can pay for the fight. But still, we could do better.”

When talking about the disparity in the money, he might have a point. For his fight against Ciryl Gane, he took home $600,000, which is significantly less than Logan Paul.

Francis Ngannou is with Jake Paul

Jake Paul is someone who has constantly raised the issue of fighter pay in the UFC. The tussle between Paul and Dana White started a long time back and since then, they have taken shots at each other. Paul even tweeted about the money that the fighters got after UFC 270.

In a recent video, while talking about the beef between Paul and White, Ngannou, made his stance clear. He said, “I Follow all those stuff. I am aware of what’s happening. You know, Jake Paul has his own way of communicating, you know, which is a little different. Maybe not the same as… I will communicate.”
