UFC’s biggest superstar Conor McGregor is getting ready to make a strong comeback this year. The Irishman has already started working on the pads, which shows a return is not too far.

Lately, ‘The Notorious’ has been posting videos of him hitting the mitts. In each of his videos, the Irish fighter is showing promising progress.

In a recent video posted by the MacLife YouTube channel, Conor McGregor is throwing hard shots on the pads. Also, McGregor’s movement on the feet looked smoother than in his earlier session.

However, fans have seen ‘The Notorious’ bounce around on his feet and knock out the all-time great Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds. Hence, with McGregor’s past accomplishments in mind, fans criticized McGregor’s new love for hard hits.

Who’s next for Conor McGregor and at what weight class?

McGregor’s injury was a very nasty one. Hence, these videos can’t be the benchmark for judging his current form. Since his foot is still not 100 percent, it’s understandable why the Irish fighter is looking slower than his usual prime form.

That said, McGregor is itching to return to achieve the success he once had inside the octagon. But who are his potential opponents?

McGregor is never short of opponents. Fighters from 125 to 205, from Triple C to the middleweight goat Anderson Silva (also competed at light heavyweight), have at some point shown interest in fighting the biggest PPV draw in the history of the company.

However, UFC President Dana White has hinted at a Nate Diaz trilogy. But another matchup that fans have wanted to see for a long time is against Tony Ferguson.

The former interim lightweight champion has called out ‘The Notorious’ on multiple occasions. Earlier, the two had the same management company and getting the bout between the two was relatively tougher than it is now. Also, since both fighters have not shown their best form in the recent year. It would be the perfect time to settle this more than a half-decade-long beef.
