Dwayne Johnson has always been leaving craters behind him whenever he made landfall in WWE. However, the Black Adam actor’s latest arrival has one of the biggest earthquakes in the pro wrestling world. Every storyline seems to have dissolved out of existence and relevance since The Rock returned after the Royal Rumble.

The heel turn portrayed by Dwayne Johnson has truly been extraordinary. While he arrived in late January, it doesn’t feel like just two months have elapsed since his return. Moreover, the way he has centered all attention around himself, it is hard to recall what WWE was doing before his arrival. However, he has now made a new claim that directly questions the authority of The Head of The Table Roman Reigns.

Dwayne Johnson has been going after Cody Rhodes for quite some time now. Be it the WWE arena, off-air promos, or his social media posts. Due to the reaction he has generated, he has become the greatest heel, not just Rhodes, but anybody has faced in WWE lately. The Brahma Bull recently gloated about it in his latest Instagram post as well.

Dwayne Johnson wrote, “The Rock has made pro wrestling cool and exciting – again. The Rock has made pro wrestling unpredictable and he’s changed the game and raised the bar – again. The Rock is THE most electric, disruptive, distinctive, and hottest heel professional wrestling has seen in the last 20 years.” The Rock then proceeded to say some very despicable lines, chiseling his heel character even more.

The Hollywood star further wrote, “You’re Welcome. F*ck off crybabies. Mama Rhodes ~ The Rock has a very special belt being made just for you. Your tears. Cody’s blood. My hands. I’ll see you soon, Mama Rhodes… ~ Final Boss.” While the latter part seemed to threaten Cody Rhodes, his real threat went out to the likes of Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and many more.

The dominance of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns has had a lot of impact on WWE. Despite both wrestlers being part-timers, the crowd loves to see both the heels in action. However, neither of them managed to cause a rift in the WWE Universe like Dwayne Johnson. In fact, he didn’t even have to wrestle or pull a sneak attack to get entire arenas to boo him.

Why The Rock is a better heel than Roman Reigns?

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar may be heels, but the crowd is usually seen cheering for them. True, Reigns does get fans frustrated every time he retains his title with the help of his lackeys. However, the hate for it is directed towards Triple H and WWE, and not the champion, which takes away his impact or agency. This isn’t the case with Dwayne Johnson.

The Rock, like a traditional heel, is getting massive boos from the crowd. His actions carry consequences that give his moves and words weight and also keep the audience on edge. Moreover, Dwayne Johnson gets all the hate from fans instead of the creative team of WWE.

This effect had really disappeared from pro wrestling altogether and has made a comeback along with The Rock. In fact, it now looks as if Cody Rhodes’ main rivalry is with Dwayne Johnson instead of the Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns. What are your thoughts on this? Let them flow in the comments.
