“You Have Got Cody Rhodes..”: Seth Rollins Continues to Poke ‘Brother’ Roman Reigns After Winning His First World Championship in Seven Years

Seth Rollins and AJ Styles were the finalists to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship. At Night of Champions, Rollins came out victorious after a hard-fought battle with Styles. After his win, Triple H crowned him as the new champion.

Now, mere days after winning the new title, he is already making his presence known. Out of all the people in WWE, he chose to take a dig at the superstar, who is at the top of the WWE food chain right now. Yes, he recently went after Roman Reigns and he went hard.

This is not the first time he talked about his aversion to Reigns, despite loving him like a brother. Let’s find out what he had to say.

Seth Rollins explains the importance of the new World Heavyweight title

‘The Visionary’ recently appeared as a guest on WWE The Bump podcast. During his interview, he took shots at ‘The Tribal Chief’. He indirectly pointed out that ever since Reigns seized the undisputed titles, he has not been a fighting champion. He rarely fights these days and only graces the squared circle when he deems it appropriate.

“There was a need for a new title because everybody is so good. If you look across the board myself, AJ Styles, all the SmackDown guys really Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Gunter, you look at Raw, you have got Cody Rhodes, you got Kevin [Owens], you got Sami [Zayn]. I mean, there are just tons of guys, tons of competition,” he said.

Reigns holding both WWE and Universal titles has led Rollins to feel that he is stealing opportunities from other superstars. Therefore, the latter pointed out that it was the need of the hour to bring a new title to the roster to maintain the spirit of competition. He thinks it was necessary to challenge the status quo and feels fortunate to be the lucky one to do so.

Rollins is proud to be the new champion

Rollins also stated that he feels excited about becoming the brand-new champion. He is glad that he got the opportunity to pave the way for other superstars and guide them as a new era of change begins. This is his first world title reign in 7 years. Last time he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Reigns in June 2019.

In addition, he mentioned he feels thrilled to become an inaugural champion. He was also the inaugural WWE NXT Champion. In July 2012, he beat Jinder Mahal in the tournament finals and won the gold. Just like at Night of Champions, that time too The Game, alongside Dusty Rhodes, crowned him the champion.
