Novak Djokovic gifted an autographed tennis racket to LeBron James and Stephen Curry. The Golden State ace, Curry was seen returning the favors as he gifted the world’s number one men’s tennis player with his signed jersey. However, this wasn’t his first meeting with Novak Djokovic.

Another Golden State Warriors star, Chris Paul shared a story on his Instagram in which he was spotted with Novak Djokovic in a single frame. He wrote, “Much Respect” in the captions. A few days ago, Djokovic also met his countryman Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets during an NBA game. Novak Djokovic is a big fan of Jokic and here’s why.

‘Nikola Jokic is the best basketball player in the world at the moment’ – Djokovic

Last year during an ATP Tour interview, Novak Djokovic revealed that he’s a “huge fan” of Nikola Jokić. He stated, “Nikola Jokić is the best basketball player in the world at the moment. Incredible guy. Everyone is so amazed with his skills, what he does on a basketball court.” Djokovic said that a player coming from Serbia and dominating the NBA is something that doesn’t happen very often. So, everyone loves him and supports him a lot in Serbia.

In a recent interview, he further added, “What he has done for not just Serbian basketball but European basketball in general is incredible.” Djokovic believes what Jokic has achieved so far in his career has truly been remarkable.

He has rewritten the history books in the last three years, and he just keeps going. He is in his prime. He’s the best. We’re super proud of him. I’m a great supporter of him, everything he does. We didn’t have too many athletes like him in the history (of Serbia), so he’s right up there. And he still isn’t finished,” added Djokovic.

Although he believes him to be one of the best athletes that his country has ever produced, when asked to make a comparison between LeBron James and Nikola Jokić, he said, “I’m here to enjoy the basketball, a sport I love very much. Of course, appreciate the greatness of LeBron and Nikola Jokić.” Djokovic believes Jokic is an ambassador for Serbia, a true inspiration for generations to come next. So he can’t be compared.
