Riyadh will witness one of the most exciting fights in recent crossover boxing history, just behind the clash of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017. The hype is real, and the fans are thrilled to watch the action go down on October 28. That’s not it. The extravagant event has attracted the attention of even global stars. But what about the star who has made Saudi Arabia his home, and the country is now synonymous with him? Will Cristiano Ronaldo attend the showdown?

The Portuguese forward has made sure the world takes notice of the ascending sports revolution in Saudi Arabia. His switch to Al-Nassr has titled the boxing world on its axis and is actively contributing to bolstering Saudi Arabia’s global image. Cristiano Ronaldo is doing his bit to cheer his friend ahead of the big clash and has exhibited his unwavering faith in him by gifting him a $117,000 watch. Likewise, the soccer star recently invited Ngannou and his family to Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League game on Tuesday night.

The visuals of that night not only show the love they share but also drop a hint about the 38-year-old soccer star’s availability on October 28. “Great to see you this week my brother @Cristiano and thank you for inviting me and my family out to @alnassr game,” Ngannou penned in a heartfelt caption.

“See you Saturday #FuryNgannou,” Ngannou added later. Therefore, confirming Ronaldo’s presence in his boxing debut fight. However, their admiration for each other and cherished friendship are not the only reasons behind Ronaldo’s assured appearance.

While rumors of Ronaldo’s presence gained traction after he appeared in Ngannou’s anthem for the upcoming event, it was his most recent appointment that confirmed the rumors.

Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairperson, Turki Alalshikh, recently appointed Cristiano Ronaldo to the role of ambassador. The GEA chairman, spurring the Riyadh Season, which kicks off on October 28th, is ready to bank on Ronaldo’s global superstar image. Hence, Fury vs. Ngannou is his first assignment in his new role.

Additionally, the Al-Nassr forward’s presence will add to the glamour of the event, which is said to be attended by the likes of Mike Tyson and Conor McGregor. And they are not the only illustrious names on the list.

“Just getting on to happily announce I will be heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia early AM tomorrow for the big blockbuster fight between boxer Tyson Fury and mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou,” the Irishman declared on X.

The Irish fighter would be cheering for Ngannou as the boxing and MMA worlds collide once again after six years. “So excited to be there. Can’t wait to touch down in Saudi Arabia. See what the country has to offer,” McGregor added.

Lastly, there will be one more person present ringside, watching how Tyson Fury handles the world’s strongest puncher. The current unified Heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, will be in the stands. He said, “Yes, I’m going there. I would like to see the bout.” Usyk continued, “I’m curious to see how Fury’s fight with the powerful 6’4″ Ngannou will play out.” Notably, Usyk vs. Fury is next.

Hence, the big stage is set. The stars are invited, and the guest list is checked. The action unfolds this Saturday.
