In a collage, Paul combined the opponents of Floyd Mayweather, Terence Crawford, Tyson Fury, and Gervonta Davis. Starting with ‘Money’ Mayweather, the 9th opponent of his professional career was Jesus Chavez. The boxer had only three wins to balance his 22 losses. Similarly, Fury’s ninth opponent, Tomas Mrazek, had 10 wins and 76 losses at the time. ‘Tank’s eighth fight had been with Hector Lopez, who had only experienced one fight in which he suffered a defeat. Lastly, Crawford’s eleventh opponent, Ron Boyd, had 11 losses and 6 wins.
What about Paul’s 8th opponent? The boxer has a record of 10 wins and just one loss. All the boxers mentioned above fought opponents who already had their records heavy on the losing side. However, this is not the case for Paul, who is going against a ‘real’ pugilist. The fighter is also a 3 time regional Golden Glove champion. This is the difference that he is pointing out. The ‘Problem Child’ is elated to climb up at such a pace and is hoping to become a world champion soon.

The celebrity boxer has faced criticism for choosing opponents he could easily defeat. They were often retired or inactive MMA fighters like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva. Despite a commendable performance against Nate Diaz, he received little recognition due to Diaz’s lack of professional boxing experience. In a recent press release from ‘Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP), Paul defended his choices, stating his ambition to become a world champion.
According to Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of MVP, Paul’s ranking surpasses boxing legends such as Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, and Gervonta Davis at this stage in their careers. Paul’s confidence and determination are driving him to push his boundaries. The upcoming bout against August marks a crucial step in his quest for boxing greatness.
