After facing humiliation in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Anthony Edwards has dealt with a major scare. Amid LeBron James‘ mission to recruit “The Avengers“, the Minnesota Timberwolves star’s position on the Team USA roster is threatened by none other than Stephen Curry. Anthony Edwards has played a pivotal role on an ever-changing Timberwolves roster. In his 3-year career in the NBA so far, his franchise has made several front-office moves to facilitate the 22-year-old’s success. In this effort, the Timberwolves traded away 24-year-old Jarred Vanderbilt last season to land superior talent. Now, the 24-year-old has signed a staggering $48,000,000 contract with the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers.

Jarred Vanderbilt impressed the Laker nation immediately upon his arrival. He had an instant impact on their defensive efforts, elevating their perimeter defensive plays. The franchise now rewarded the 24-year-old’s efforts by handing him the bag. Edwards, too, seemed over the moon with his news as he shared an elated one-word response on Instagram.
