The Chicago Bulls stunned the Minnesota Timberwolves in a thrilling overtime win. The non-conference matchup saw DeMar DeRozan, an elusive figure in the clutch takeover score 10 points to guide the Bulls to a 123-129 win. There were many highlights on the night. Coby White and Anthony Edwards dueled, DeRozan stepped up in the clutch, and even Andre Drummond enjoyed some success when matched against Rudy Gobert.

The Bulls, who were without their streaky scorer Zach Lavine, staged an emphatic 23-point comeback against the Wolves. White led the show in regulation with 33 points and 7 assists. DeRozan took over in the latter stage, also finishing with 33. Ant and Karl-Anthony Towns combined for 71 points, yet it wasn’t enough.

Drummond, who earned his eighth start, outplayed Wolves’ rim protector Rudy Gobert. He logged 16 points and 16 rebounds while aiding the Bulls in shunning Gobert’s interior presence. In overtime, the veteran scored an important bucket over his matchup and rubbed Gobert with a celebration.

Unfortunately for him, he had a little too much fun.

Andre Drummond is fined by the NBA

The Bulls were energetic as DeMar DeRozan engineered a stellar performance in overtime to secure a win over one of the best teams in the NBA. The Timberwolves, like many times this season, failed to defend a sizeable lead they had developed early in the game. They got torched and then punished more in overtime as no Wolves player really had an answer for the Bulls’ shot-maker.

DeRozan was also responsible for controlling the tempo. With a little over a minute remaining, he fed the ball to a cutting Drummond. Facing Gobert, the seasoned center didn’t take any chances and went right at the rim. The three-time DPOY was caught in a helpless position. He couldn’t redirect the shot or even attempt a block.

After the basket, Drummond, elated by making a big bucket, hit the ‘too small’ celebration at the celebrated French center. After that, he transitioned into the ‘big balls’ taunt. Of course, nothing escapes the NBA’s eyes.

It was announced that the former Pistons center will have to pay $15000 as a fine for his inappropriate celebration. Previously, LeBron James faced a similar fine when he hit an identical celebration against the Indiana Pacers 2 years ago.

Drummond has been sensational since being promoted to the starting lineup for the Bulls. In the games he has started, the 30-year-old is averaging a double-double with 14.3 points and a hefty 17 boards. The Bulls haven’t tremendously improved in any sort. Yet, Drummond is making a noticeable impact when out on the floor.
