One of the things that the power of the internet has made possible is YouTube boxing. Earlier this month, Misfits Promotion, led by Youtuber KSI, put on a card featuring the likes of Tommy Fury, Logan Paul, and Dillon Danis and reportedly did 1.3 million pay-per-view buys.

For context, UFC 294 with two widely awaited matchups between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski in the main event and a middleweight title eliminator between the unstoppable Khamzat Chimaev and the greatest welterweight ever in Kamaru Usman, managed an estimated 850k PPV buys. And even Nate Diaz seems to prefer boxing over MMA, if recent reports are to be believed.

Jake Paul is signed with UFC rival PFL, as is former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The promotion is reportedly in the process of acquiring Bellator, which might improve its roster and make it more popular. Journalist Michael Benson has reported, however, that their MMA rematch has hit a snag after Paul agreed to it.

“PFL have now made Jake Paul and Nate Diaz an official offer for an MMA rematch, Jake’s Most Valuable Promotions have stated. They said Jake has accepted this offer, while Nate is calling for a boxing rematch instead.” Benson tweeted.

Nate Diaz is dragging his feet and calling for another boxing rematch, which is surprising considering his atrocious performance in August. The reason behind this may be that Diaz does not want to upset Dana White and the UFC by fighting its rival and boosting its popularity. Nonetheless, fans were shocked at Diaz.
