At WrestleMania 40, Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes, with a possible tag team match between The Rock & Reigns and Rhodes & Seth Rollins also teased for a future event. Because Rhodes dissed their family, Rock will possibly team up with Reigns to defeat The American Nightmare for once and all.

The Rock has become a member of the TKO Board of Directors and has taken Rhodes’s place for the WrestleMania 40 event against The Tribal Chief. This led to a backlash from fans and other wrestlers coming up with the #WeWantCodyRhodes movement. Due to this, they had to make things clear in the kickoff event.
