The City of Angels have a great partnership in their squad, especially between LeBron James and Anthony Davis. However, due to being injured for a prolonged period, Davis’ skills are being questioned. Although, even with a spasm in his hip, the big man fought through it and aided the Lakers to a 105-104 victory against the Rockets. However, there is an argument about Anthony Davis being able to perform well only due to the presence of King James. Cameron Gilles spoke about this in his podcast, recently and compared Davis with Heat star Bam Adebayo.

The 26-year-old Heat star has been performing exceptionally well and putting up great numbers. However, fans and analysts think that Davis is better after comparing both the players’ statistics. To this Gilles’ argument was that Davis’ stats are better because he plays in the same team as LeBron James.

On the podcast, Come Talk 2 Me, Gilles spoke about how they thought that the Miami Heat team was very “lackluster” this season. But then he stated that the Heats are looking pretty decent this season. They did a side-by-side comparison of Anthony Davis’ numbers with that of Bam Adebayo’s. The reason to do that was to show Gilles and co that they were “delusional” for thinking Adebayo was better than Davis. To that Gilles replied, “If I was playing with LeBron James and I am Anthony Davis, I should be having those numbers.”

He further continued by saying, “It wasn’t crazy. I think Anthony Davis averaged 26 points and Bam averaged 21 when I looked at it. But imagine if Bam played with LeBron as well and he is available for 75-80 games. It’ll be better numbers as well.” The Lakers won 5 of their last 6 games even with Anthony Davis being out due to injury in most of the matches.

However, even in the face of injury, Davis stepped up and delivered 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Yet, his performance was overshadowed by the King who led the Lakers to a one-point victory. The 4x champion put up 37 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds in his vintage display of skills.

How has Adebayo been performing in this season?

Bam Adebayo has unexpectedly made a huge contribution to the Miami Heat. This season, Adebayo’s rise has secured him a position on NBA.com’s MVP ladder. Adebayo has emerged as the centerpiece of the Heat’s performance in Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro’s absence. The 26-year-old is averaging a career-high 22.8 points and 10.2 rebounds.

The Heat were on a seven-game winning streak before losing to the Bulls recently. Adebayo credits his enhanced offensive performance to none other than Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade. Adebayo’s progress in becoming an aggressive yet smart player has been a crucial element in the Heat’s recent dominance, as he has learned the art of patience and allowing the defense to determine his actions.

So looking at Adebayo’s recent performances, if he was a part of the Lakers, his numbers could have been even better. Whereas if Davis was part of the Heat when their star players were absent, would he be able to put up the same stats as Adebayo? That is the argument Cameron Gilles was making to prove that Adebayo is also a force to be reckoned with and with some aid, he will be unstoppable. What do you think about Gilles’ argument? Do you think Davis is better than Adebayo? Let us know in the comments below.
