The October 31 season deadline for the NFL 2023 trade is approaching. Few interesting matchups have taken place and some more are on the cards. Teams have already had their takeaways and they are looking to add new talents or trade existing ones for cash-out to boost the squads.

With the market agents in full action, we bring you the most interesting trading rumors and news before the yearly trade window closes. From potential tradeoffs to possible buyers, the article includes everything that’s happening at the management level.

Expected NFL 2023 trade before window closing

Denver Broncos must actively start searching the market because of their poor start. Despite several players constantly underperforming, they have ignored the trade calls so far. But with 1-5 after Week 6, they might go through the market one last time before October 31. Jerry Judy, Courtland Sutton, and Kareem Jackson are the possible names that could be traded for a cash-out. DE Frank Clark has already been released and is rumored to rejoin the Chiefs.

The Panthers are statistically the worst team in the league so far and are yet to win their first game after Week 6. They need a serious renovation to stop things from completely falling apart, and luckily the market is still open for them for over 10 days. Terrace Marshall Jr., Frankie Luvv, Brian Burns, and Jeremy Chinn are some underperforming names that could earn them a cash-out.

The New York Giants are back to reality after a wild 2020 season, accounting for a 1-5 after Week 6. The offense has not been up to the mark, and even Daniel Jones can’t deny his role. The Giants could potentially put some of their juiciest offensive names on the market before time runs out. These include names like Sterling Shepard, Saquon Barkley, Xavier McKinney, and Adoree’ Jackson.

The Vikings have lost more games than they have won, and the miserable Bears have stopped them recently from going 1-5. Kirk Cousins’ heroics haven’t been able to save them either, and that is partly due to their ball carriers and clueless defense. While currently no team is actively looking for an offensive linebacker on the market, they can still get a decent trade value from veteran safety Harrison Smith. Releasing D.J. Wonnum, Danielle Hunter, and Erza Cleveland can help them set their cap.

The Patriots have been dethroned from heaven and thrown straight into the muddy waters. It looks like Bill Belichick’s 300th career win is forever coming, and Belichick might give up or get kicked out of his 23-year-long Patriot career, whichever comes first. With a three-game losing streak and after recently falling short against Tom Brady‘s LV Raiders, they can feel like even Brady is laughing at them. The management must cut the offensive line for trade values, and do it as fast as possible before the disastrous season lowers them even further. While it doesn’t guarantee prevention of 1-6 this weekend, assets like Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne, Josh Uche, and Kyle Dugger could be released to nick in the extra cash for some offensive talent that can actually rescue them mid-season.

The Cardinals are no better either, and they boast a 1-5 record after six games with a three-game losing streak since surprising the Cowboys. Haters will say that’s what you get for beating the most-loved franchise. But on a serious note, they need a rescuer, and cashing out names like Zach Ertz, Marquise Brown, and Budda Baker might help with that. Baker is a lucrative deal that many teams won’t want to miss out on.

The Titans are 2-4 into the season and despite some unwillingness, they may cash out three-time Pro Bowl and two-time lead rusher Derrick Henry for some big value. In exchange, they can get their hands on some defensive backs amid their ever-degrading defensive unit.

Potential buyers before window closing

The following teams, on the other hand, are doing better than most. But they need to add that extra push to seal the playoff spot midway through the season.

The Chiefs and their wide receiver position could send them to the market before it closes, and strengthen the Patrick Mahomes-led offense even further.

The Bills as a team are doing good, winning four out of the six outings. But the squad is filled with some serious injuries, with running back Damien Harris being the latest on the receiving end. The entire back line has some sort of uncertainty with multiple players on injury reserve, and the Bills can extend their search in the trading possibilities going into the final week.

The Eagles have taken their first stumble of the season recently, as the Jets ruined their win streak last Sunday. Especially during the last quarter of the game, the Jet’s offense was increasingly getting heavier on the Eagles’ backline. Combined that with Reed Blankenship’s broken ribs, they might look out for a safety in the coming days.

The Lions are at the top of the NFC North, but that has not been smooth. Despite their solid defensive displays, there are injury issues in the defensive back position. They can’t always rely on experienced CB Jerry Jacobs and should reach out to the market to assist him with some defensive names.

The Ravens are yet to reach their peak form, and that is partly because of their carriers not being at 100%. That added to the injury problems of David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh. They are more likely than not to bring in a DE/OL combination.

While not doing horribly, there are a lot of improvements to make for the LA Chargers. And some on the management end too. Keenan Allen has looked like one desperate soul to try to explore things on his own, and that backfired against the Cowboys last weekend. While the injury might not be the biggest concern for the team, they need to search the market solely based on a lack of performers to keep up with Allen. RB, OL, and good carriers are their priorities at the moment to not get out-muscled by the opposition’s wide lines.

The next round of game week starts tonight, with the Saints facing off the Jaguars at Caesars Superdome, New Orleans at 8:15 PM, ET. Keep an eye out for live action.
